Welcome to The Wissett Plough.

The Plough is a beautiful country pub and restaurant, set within the charming village of Wissett near Halesworth in Suffolk with gorgeous views and great walks. Serving home cooked food, a variety of real ales, lagers, non-alcoholic beers, an extensive gin bar and a fabulous variety of whiskeys and rums. We also have a small but perfectly formed list of good wine..

Traditional board games are available to enjoy and on the chilly days, the log burner will keep you warm and cosy. Newspapers are available on the weekends.

Friendly, well behaved dogs are more than welcome in the pub during the day but please keep them on a lead at all times.

Menus are available to view in our restaurant. However, if you have special dietary needs, please call us and we will endeavour to create something to meet your needs.

Real ale, good wine and a gin bar

We offer a wide selection of premium drinks and have specialty gin bar menu. If you prefer something more traditional, then one of our hand pulled cask real ales. We also have weekly guest ales. Plus lager such as Becks, Hop House, Stella and Guinness to name but a few.

Our good wine menu offers delicious Red and White Wines along with Prosecco and Champagne. Hopefully we have something for everyone to enjoy. We have a wide selection of non alcoholic drinks, if you prefer a hot drink we have freshly ground Italian Coffee and a choice of Teas.

Forthcoming Events

Open Mic nights - Everyone welcome to come and sing and/or play.

Quiz Night - Teams need to book in advance, no more than six people to a team.

10th Annual Beer Festival - There will be 26 different beers, 6 ciders, bbq, hog roast and paella. Further details to be posted. Beer tokens go on sale, from next week from the pub.


Sunday 22nd March - Mothers day. Complimentary bottle of wine for a table of 4 when bringing mum to lunch. Table of 4 or less, free glass of Prosecco or Wine when you bring mum to lunch. Fress soft drinks for children and designated drivers. Booking essential.


Sunday 12th April (Easter Sunday) - Complimentary glass of Prosseco for adults and an Easter Egg for children when booked in for Sunday lunch, and complimentary Petit Fours to finish your meal.


Friday 8th May - Sunday 10th May - VE 75th Anniversary Celebrations. Dress up 1940's style (optional) and join us for a weekend of fun, Including: Live band playing 1940's classics, street party with afternoon tea, sing a long with tunes on the piano, games including stretcher racing and a pub quiz all about the 1940's.
